A large contingent of members from Kintore, Westhill and other local Rotary Clubs turned up at the Leys Hotel on Tuesday 28 May, to support new Rotarians wishing to start a Club in Blackburn. 

District Extension Officer Bill Leslie from the Westhill Club has been working hard over many months to encourage the recruitment of new members and he welcomed these new and very committed and enthusiastic members to the Rotary family.

These new members were very much in evidence and attracted a lot of interest
as they manned one of the fundraising stands at the Blackburn Gala, held the previous Saturday, in glorious weather.

Kintore is the sponsoring Club for Blackburn and Kenny Thomson has been assisting Bill to get the Club up and running.  As publiucity officer for the Kintore Club, he has submitted articles to the media to highlight these recent events, promote the new Club and seek more members.
